Claus is a well known TV personality in Denmark, having hosted his own cooking series on national Danish Television (DR1) from 1992 to 1998. Last summer Claus made a very successful comeback on the same channel, with a Danish version of New Scandinavian Cooking ("Med Smag av Danmark"). The series received great reviews and sky high rating. This summer DR1 decided to re-run the show, and again it reached excellent viewer numbers. Claus co-owns the gourmet Copenhagen restaurant Noma, which is awarded two Michelin stars in the most recent edition of the Michelin Guide. Among his other business ventures, Claus owns catering, fruit and chocolate supply companies, in addition to running a cooking school. Claus also acts as a culinary advisor, lecturer and assistant professor of Foodstuff Science at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen. He is a highly productive author and has published 14 cookbooks in Denmark.

Claus' informative style, along with his reputation for precision and accuracy in the kitchen, helps
educate the international TV audiences about the unique techniques and ingredients used in Nordic
cuisine.  He is regarded as one of the leading lights of the New Nordic Cuisine movement and is very
passionate about healthy local food, small scale food production and food ethics. This fall Claus
launches a limited edition beer flavored with stinging nettles, pepperwort and elderflower.


In his leisure time, Claus Meyer loves playing sports, however, he is also a passionate sports spectator with a fondness for Danish women's handball, the Danish national soccer team and specifically Nykøbing Falster Alliancen of which he is active in the club's business association and a member of the board.

Claus lives in Copenhagen, Denmark and is married to graphic designer Christina. Together they
have three daughters; Elvira, Viola Filippa and Augusta.
